A WireCam system will show aerial footage of the game, providing more shots and a unique view of the Royals in action. These new shots will be visible to fans in the stadium and those watching at home. In addition to the WireCam, the Royals will also be using a drone this season. This will provide views of tailgaters, beauty shots from around the stadium and shots of the crowd. “We are excited to be one of two teams with both a new WireCam innovation and a drone cam,” said Scott Lichtenauer, director of branding content and innovation. “That’s going to be really bringing fans closer to the game than ever before.” The drone and WireCam system will debut at Monday’s home opener against the Minnesota Twins, which will also mark the first Royals.TV broadcast from inside Kauffman.
