The Chicago White Sox had a game to forget when playing the Milwaukee Brewers to open the season on March 26. The Brewers demolished the White Sox 14-2, with right-hander Shane Smith lasting 1.2 innings, allowing three earned and walking three.

All-Star right-hander Jacob Misiorowski struck out 11 to set a Brewers franchise record, while the White Sox struck out 20 times overall. Of all the White Sox hitters, three: shortstop Colson Montgomery, infielder Miguel Vargas, and outfielder Everson Pereira struck out three times.
The White Sox’s lone two runs came on home runs, with infielder Chase Meidroth and first baseman/designated hitter Munetaka Murakami hitting their first of the season. Murakami‘s home run was also the first of his big league career after signing a two-year ($34 million) contract in the offseason.
Chicago White Sox catcher Edgar Quero wants to flush this game and look towards the next one

Quero put together a fantastic spring — batting .283, an OPS of .722, two doubles, and a home run — but nobody would know that after Thursday’s game. Quero was one of three players — outfielder/designated hitter Andrew Benintendi and outfielder Austin Hays being the others — striking out twice.
When speaking to MLB.com’s Scott Merkin, Queros said he “didn’t have much to say” on the game.
“First game. I don’t have too much to say. Just ready for tomorrow. Just first game. Start of the season. It’s a lot of games coming up, so you get ready for tomorrow. New game, and that’s it.”
The White Sox don’t play on Friday, but will play the Brewers again on Saturday. Right-hander Sean Burke will take the mound for the White Sox, while the Brewers will counter with right-hander Chad Patrick.
Burke went 0-3 with a 4.58 ERA and allowed nine earned runs and six walks in 17.2 innings this spring.
