The Milwaukee Brewers got their 2026 season off to a good start Thursday with a 14-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox at American Family Field.
A sellout crowd of 43,001 attended the game. Last year, regular season attendance at Brewers home games totaled 2,650,089, a 4.4% increase from the 2024 season. The Brewers ranked 12th out of the 30 teams in Major League Baseball for attendance in 2025.
The Brewers on Thursday also announced what television channels their games will be available for viewing this season. The Brewers are one of several teams whose games will be produced and distributed by Major League Baseball, following the demise of Main Street Sports Group, doing business as FanDuel Sports Networks. Brewers principal owner Mark Attanasio said Thursday that the team’s annual broadcast television revenue has dipped by $20 million as a result of the shift to MLB handing its local game telecasts.
A group led by Attanasio bought the Brewers in 2005 for $223 million. Forbes recently estimated Attanasio’s net worth at $1.9 billion.
Last year the Brewers led Major League Baseball with 97 wins in the regular season, winning the National Central Division, and they defeated the Chicago Cubs in the National League Division Series. However they were then swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, and the Dodgers went on to win the World Series. The Brewers are still seeking their first world championship and have not been to the World Series since 1982.
