ANNAPOLIS — Governor Wes Moore today joined Comptroller Brooke Lierman, Treasurer Dereck Davis, and Baltimore Orioles ownership at Orioles Opening Day in Baltimore to unveil $135 million in completed stadium upgrades at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the largest upgrades since the stadium was first built in 1992.
The multi-phase renovation project is funded by the State of Maryland and managed by the Maryland Stadium Authority in collaboration with the Baltimore Orioles—modernizing the historic ballpark and enhancing the fan experience.

“These upgrades represent a vital chapter in the Baltimore Renaissance,” said Gov. Moore. “On Opening Day, our hope for the new season isn’t just about what happens on the field—it’s symbolic of a city and state on the rise. By modernizing this iconic crown jewel, we are ensuring it remains a driver of growth and a source of pride for generations, showing the world that Maryland’s best days are ahead of us.”
Phase 1 of the multi-year renovation project introduces several major enhancements to the ballpark, including:
Center Field Video Board and Ribbon Boards: A new 4K center field video board that is 2.5 times larger than the previous display, along with upgraded ribbon boards across the Club Level to keep fans connected with in-game information from any seat.
Enhanced Sound System: A revamped network of more than 900 high-output speakers installed throughout the ballpark that will significantly improve in-game audio quality and allow for a more immersive fan experience.
Premium Club: Replacing the former press box, this upscale, first-of-its-kind indoor and outdoor experience situated behind home plate features an inclusive food and beverage package, in-seat drink ordering, a private entrance, and complimentary parking.
Club Level Renovation: A completely reimagined space featuring new decor, furniture, lighting, and two new climate-controlled bars along the first and third base lines.
Scoreboard Social: An open-concept gathering space located beneath the new video board, available for private events of up to 300 people and open to all fans when not reserved.
Infrastructure Improvements: Additional behind-the-scenes renovations, including a new control room to orchestrate audio/visual displays and live game stats, steel painting, and a critical chiller plant replacement to improve climate control capabilities across the Camden Yards complex.
“As a member of the Board of Public Works and a lifelong Orioles fan, I’m proud to join Governor Moore and Treasurer Davis in making investments that both protect taxpayer dollars and enhance the experiences that matter to Marylanders and support our economic growth,” said Comptroller Brooke Lierman. “These upgrades help modernize the stadium to ensure it is ready for current and future generations of baseball fans, staff, and players and solidify Oriole Park at Camden Yards as the best baseball stadium in the country.”
“I’m proud to join the Governor and Comptroller in welcoming our hometown team back to the field and celebrating the start of a new season,” said Treasurer Dereck E. Davis. “With these upgrades, Oriole Park at Camden Yards is being transformed into a landmark destination that Marylanders and visitors alike will enjoy for years to come.”
“This Opening Day we are celebrating the completion of the first phase of state investments in Oriole Park at Camden Yards,” said Maryland Stadium Authority Chairman Craig A. Thompson. “Fans will certainly cheer for the new videoboard, new sound system, and new social spaces plus the behind-the-scenes infrastructure improvements. We look forward to our continued collaboration with the Baltimore Orioles on future projects ensuring our beloved ballpark is the best in baseball.”

“We are grateful to Governor Moore, the Maryland Stadium Authority, and all Marylanders for their confidence and support,” said Baltimore Orioles Chief Executive Officer and Principal Owner David M. Rubenstein. “Camden Yards is better than ever and ready to provide fans with many more years of great Orioles baseball.”
On December 18, 2023, the Board of Public Works approved a landmark lease agreement between the Maryland Stadium Authority and the Baltimore Orioles to keep the Orioles at Camden Yards for at least the next 30 years. That agreement unlocked up to $600 million in bond expenditures originally authorized by the General Assembly in 2022 for capital improvements, of which $305 million has been issued by the Maryland Stadium Authority for the total renovation fund.
Construction is also underway on the Right Field Flag Court, an open-to-the-public social space featuring a wraparound bar set to open following the All-Star break. The Maryland Stadium Authority plans to begin the next phase of upgrades after the conclusion of the 2026 Orioles season, with project details to be determined in the coming months.
Across 83 home games held at Oriole Park during the 2023 Major League Baseball season, the Orioles hosted approximately 2 million visitors, generating more than $369 million in total economic activity. Orioles home games during that same season supported 4,500 full and part-time jobs and more than $192 million in wages statewide.
