Bay City saw its successful soccer seasons come to an end in the area round at the hands of powerful Salado teams.
In a Class 4A Division I playoff game, the Bay City boys fell to Salado by a 3-0 score.
The Eagles scored twice in the first half for the only goals they would need.
Salado continues to the regional semifinals with an impressive 25-0-1 record while Bay City ended its season with a very respectable 18-5-2 record.
The Bay City girls’ team also found the going too tough against a No. 3 state-ranked Salado team.
The Eagles downed the Lady ‘Cats, 2-0, as Bay City finished its season with a 20-6-2 record.
Salado continues its bid for a state championship with a 24-1 record.

EL CAMPO EASES PAST BAY CITY: El Campo was too powerful for the Blackcats Tuesday night, rolling to a 14-0 win in a District 29-4A baseball game.
The Ricebirds scored three runs in the first inning in taking control early. El Campo also benefitted from nine Bay City errors.
EDNA EDGES PALACIOS: Dayton Doege and Eric Garcia each drove in runs for the Sharks, but it wasn’t enough Tuesday night in a 6-2 loss to Edna.
Logan Nieto and Caden Brooks also had hits for Palacios in the District 25-3A matchup.
TIDEHAVEN BLANKS YOAKUM: Ashton Klaiber, Tristan Galvan and Kale Russell each had key hits for the Tigers in a 3-0 win over Yoakum Tuesday night in a District 25-3A game.
Tidehaven scored single runs in each of the first three innings in claiming the victory.
VAN VLECK FALLS TO EAST BERNARD: East Bernard proved to be too much in taking a 14-7 win Tuesday night over the Leopards.
The loss dropped Van Vleck to 13-5 overall and 1-2 in District 24-3A.
EL CAMPO BATS TOO HOT FOR BAY CITY: El Campo used an 18-hit attack to take a 13-0 win over Bay City in a District 29-4A game Tuesday night.
The Ricebirds scored all the runs they would need in a five-run first inning.
Leah Cruz, Felicity Lara and Neveah Martinez collected hits for the Lady ‘Cats.
INDUSTRIAL IS TOO MUCH FOR PALACIOS: Industrial rolled to a 12-1 win over the Sharkettes Tuesday night in the District 25-3A matchup.
The loss dropped Palacios to 9-12 overall, but the Sharkettes are still in contention for a playoff spot with a 4-5 record which keeps them in fourth place.
TIDEHAVEN RALLY FALLS JUST SHORT: Despite scoring six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Tigerettes came up just short in a 9-8 loss to Hallettsville Tuesday night in a District 25-3A game.
Tidehaven staged its rally after trailing 9-2 but couldn’t score in any of the final three innings despite shutting out Hallettsville during that time.
MATCHETT FIRES NO-HITTER FOR VAN VLECK: The Lady Leopards were hitting on all cylinders Tuesday night, rolling to an 18-1 win over Wallis Brazos in a District 24-3A game.
Senior Lakyn Matchett pitched a five-inning no-hitter and struck out seven.
Sophomore Crystal Garcia and junior Kamryn Waller each doubled and drove in three runs.
Matchett went 3-for-4 with two RBI while junior Aamry Gutierezz also drove in two runs with a triple.
Kylie Sazera, Adia Kile and Bryanna Jolly each drove in runs for Van Vleck.
The Lady Leopards (14-5 overall) are 3-0 in district games have outscored their opponents during that time by a 45-1 margin.
