His absence led to a collective gasp around Braves Country as many took to social media wondering where Miller was on Opening Day.

ATLANTA — If you watched the Braves season opener at Truist Park either in person or on TV, you may have noticed that a staple at big games and every Sunday home game was not in attendance for his powerful and soulful delivery of “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch.

That led to a collective gasp around Braves Country as many took to social media wondering where Miller was on Opening Day during Atlanta’s 6-0 shutout win over the Kansas City Royals.

But don’t worry Braves fans, Miller himself took to social media on Friday night to explain why he wasn’t there to perform his rendition at the game.

Miller explained that he has to miss opening weekend after several deaths in his family. We, along with the rest of Braves Country, are wishing nothing but the best for Miller and his family and cannot wait to welcome him back to the ballpark in 2026.

Wishing Braves country a happy Opening Weekend! Unfortunately, I have to miss opening weekend as we’ve had several deaths in my family recently. Still proud to represent the “A” and will back on the diamond next homestand! Go Braves ⚾️@fanatics @mlb #GiftedByFanatics pic.twitter.com/QhcDBcmwZa
