The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team is looking to shake off a midweek upset loss to the Kennesaw State Owls. No. 7 Georgia will look to get back on track on Friday at 6 p.m. ET against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Georgia hosts the series at Foley Field.
Georgia is not the only team in the series with something to prove. South Carolina manager Paul Mainieri resigned from his position following the Gamecocks’ recent 22-6 loss to Arkansas. The Gamecocks now have interim manager Monte Lee leading the charge.
Georgia (20-6, 4-2 SEC) is looking to win its third straight SEC series to open the season. The Bulldogs play a South Carolina (13-13, 1-5 SEC) team that is still looking to win an SEC series and is only 1-5 on the road.
The Georgia-South Carolina series will be televised on SEC Network+. Georgia baseball leads the nation in home runs and has four players with at least 10 home runs (Tre Phelps, Daniel Jackson, Kolby Branch and Brennan Hudson) and will look to keep their power streak going against South Carolina. We predict Georgia will win the series two games to one with South Carolina avoiding a sweep on Sunday.
