LOS ANGELES — Bring it in, Freddie Freeman.
A two-out chopper hit to Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte left the Los Angeles Dodgers’ base runner out to dry, so Freeman simply stopped in the base path and started to retreat.
Marte could have flipped the ball to second, ran after Freeman or walked to the base for the third and final out, but he had another idea.
Marte stuck his arms out, and Freeman humored him with a hug for the third out.

Even the home fans at Dodger stadium found the moment of levity between National League West rivals early in a close game charming.
