The Chicago White Sox opened up their season against the Milwaukee Brewers, and it went about as expected. The Brew Crew was just too much for them to keep up with.Â
They lost all three games, with only one of them being close. In total, they were outscored 29-10, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some good to take away from this series.Â
Munestaka Murakami could not have had a better start to his MLB career. After three straight home runs, he became the fourth player in MLB history to start their career with a three-game home run streak.Â

White Sox need offensive spark beyond Munetaka Murakami’s historic start
Murakami was not the only bright spot for the team despite their three losses. Colson Montgomery, the club’s shortstop who turned heads last season after his debut, looked solid last week.Â
He blasted a grand slam on Sunday in the first inning, but it wasn’t enough to give them their first win of the season.Â
It was not the start the front office was hoping for, and they will need some of these other sluggers to step up. Because if they did not have Murakami, who knows what this series could have looked like, per Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter.Â
“The White Sox were outscored by 19 runs in three games against the Brewers, but hyped slugger Munetaka Murakami at least made a memorable first impression, homering in each of his first three games in a White Sox uniform.”
Even with three home runs, Murakami cannot carry this offense alone. It is going to be on a few more sluggers to step up, and the pitching staff to limit runs.
If not, it is going to be quite a long season for White Sox and their fanbase, who were hoping for more this season.
