CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – According to the MLB transactions page, the Cleveland Guardians have claimed left-handed reliever Matt Krook off waivers from the Athletics.
Krook has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus after being designated for assignment by the Athletics earlier this week.
The 30-year-old signed with the Athletics on a minor league deal during the offseason.
He appeared in three games this season, posting a 5.40 ERA. In 3.1 innings, he struck out three batters.
Prior to this season, he had previously made Major League appearances with both the Yankees and Orioles.
He has appeared in a total of 8 MLB games combined between the three teams. In 8.1 innings, he has 8 total strikeouts.
In a corresponding roster move, the Guardians transferred Ben Lively to the 60-day injured list.
