After opening the 2026 season on the road in Los Angeles, the Arizona Diamondbacks are back in the Valley for their home opener against the Detroit Tigers on Monday night.

The Diamondbacks had a rough start to the season, getting swept by the Dodgers. Arizona scored first in all three games, but the Dodgers got the last laugh each time.

Now, the D-backs return home looking to notch their first win of the season. Arizona will do so against the Tigers, who started the year 2-1 with a series win over the San Diego Padres.

The Diamondbacks will turn to Michael Soroka to start their home opener, who gave up 10 runs across 12 innings during spring training and pitched in the World Baseball Classic.

The Tigers will start 20-year veteran Justin Verlander, who allowed 11 earned runs across 14.2 innings in spring training.

The Diamondbacks will unveil a bunch of new food items this season. Whether you want an enormous bucket of nachos, a taste of barbecue, a big sandwich or a dessert for your sweet tooth, Chase Field has it all in 2026.
