(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers suffered their first loss of the season Monday night, falling to the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 at American Family Field in Milwaukee.

Young left‑hander Kyle Harrison was a bright spot in his Brewers debut, striking out eight and allowing just one run over five innings.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about the outing by Harrison.

Harrison said that he got more comfortable with his pitches as the game progressed.

The game was tied in the ninth when closer Trevor Megill issued a two‑out walk, and Tampa Bay cashed in on a go‑ahead RBI double by Nick Fortes.

William Contreras accounted for both Milwaukee runs with a two‑run homer in the sixth.

Contreras’ hit was 1 of just 6 the Brewers got off of Tampa starting pitcher Nick Martinez.

Murphy discussed what made Martinez effective.

The 2 teams meet again tonight at American Family Field with Brandon Woodruff making his season debut on the mound for the Brewers.

Pratt headed toward a big deal:  The Brewers are reportedly locking up one of their prospects.

According to multiple outlets, Milwaukee will sign shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt to an eight-year, $50.75 million contract.

Pratt is MLB’s number 62 ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
