Fans may have gotten a look at the Cincinnati Reds‘ new City Connect jerseys, and they have a lot of opinions.
Pictures of what is allegedly the franchise’s new alternate uniforms started circulating on X on March 30.

“We have a leak of what’s believed to be the Cincinnati Reds new City Connect jersey,” the podcast account “Talkin’ Baseball” posted on X with photos of the uniform.
The Enquirer reached out to the Reds for confirmation that the uniforms are authentic.
Leaks of other MLB teams’ alleged new City Connect uniforms also occurred in recent days.
More on the City Connect uniforms
Almost every MLB team has a City Connect uniform. Nike works with each team to design the alternate jerseys, which are supposed to reflect the city’s culture and community. Unlike the standard uniforms, the City Connect jerseys often include bright colors, eye-catching designs or colors that don’t fit the team’s typical brand palette.

The Reds released their first City Connect jersey in 2023. The all-black look featured a revamped “C,” red accents and “Cincy” written across the chest. The Reds wanted the designs to look modern and representative of “forward-thinking,” Reds Vice President of Marketing and Communications Ralph Mitchell told The Enquirer at the time.

The leaked design is all-red with dark red pinstripes. The same revamped C appears on the uniform, but this time in red-and-white stripes on the left side of the chest. The player’s number is in black on the right side. “Cincy” is no longer written on the uniform.
Fans share mixed feelings about leaked Reds jerseys
The consensus surrounding the jerseys is mixed. Some X users liked them, while others called them “awful” or “horrific.” Some felt indifferent. Others wanted more information before they could fully form an opinion.
The fan account Reds Daily wrote that it’s hard to judge the uniform without seeing the pants. Other users hoped the real jerseys would be sleeveless.

“I would LOVE these if they were vests with black undershirts,” one user wrote.
