“The Simpsons” have become a generational piece of culture that has been passed on from parents to children just like baseball.

One of the show’s legendary episodes is “Homer at the Bat,” which features the cameos of Baseball Hall of Famers Ken Griffey Jr., Ozzie Smith and Wade Boggs. And then there’s fictional Springfield’s own baseball team, the Isotopes, which really did inspire a real minor league baseball team in New Mexico.

Now “The Simpsons” are blending their way into baseball in a new way. The show has teamed up with New Era to sell exclusive hats, T-shirts and more in-store and online at major sports retailer Lids. Next to apparel featuring characters like Homer Simpson playing baseball, hats have been made for all 30 Major League Baseball teams to represent “The Simpsons'” intro of a powder blue sky, clouds (and instead of the show’s moniker) and the team’s logo in a shade of yellow that represents the appearances of many of the show’s characters.

“LOOK UP AND ENJOY THE CLOUDS! The Simpsons x MLB x New Era 5950 Clouds Collection is NOW available in stores, exclusively at Lids and lidshd.com (while supplies last),” the post on the Lids and LidsHD Instagram page reads.

And when it come to that Minor League Baseball team, that would be the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. In “Hungry, Hungry Homer,” Homer Simpson protests the Springfield Isotopes move from town to Albuquerque. At the team’s home ballpark, Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park, you’ll find statues of The Simpson family that are perfect for taking selfies.
