There was significant movement in the ranking this week due to some surprising outcomes. Arkansas dropped 12 spots from No. 5 to No. 17 after getting swept at home by Florida. That might seem a bit harsh, but Florida was unranked after getting swept the previous week at Alabama. The Gators are back in at No. 16, one spot ahead of the Hogs.
Speaking of Alabama, the Tide jumped from No. 23 to No. 12 after sweeping then-No. 3 Auburn in Tuscaloosa. Auburn is now No. 13.
Two teams dropped out: NC State (swept at Georgia Tech to fall to 3-6 in the ACC) and Tennessee (swept at Vanderbilt). They are replaced by Florida (No. 16) and Boston College (No. 24).
