GAME ONE: SYRACUSE 3, IOWA 2 / 7 (BOX)
Paul Blackburn, in his final rehab start of the season, went 6.1 innings, surrendering four hits, two runs, two walks, and striking out four, in a very Paul Blackburn start. His role with the big club is still a little bit up in the air, despite his rehab finishing up after game one of this double header. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said he will be considered as a sixth starter next week. Offensively, Joey Meneses got them out to a 1-0 lead with a double, and Hayden Senger and Luis De Los Santos made it 2-0 and 3-0 respectively, before Iowa started chipping away at the lead.

BROOKLYN 6, ABERDEEN 4 (BOX)
Starter R.J. Gordon did not have a good time today, surrendering four runs (three earned) in three innings of work, putting Brooklyn in a 4-0 hole after three. He was picked up by his bullpen and his offense. Cristofer Gomez, making his Brooklyn debut after his promotion from St. Lucie, was excellent in relief, striking out six in three scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit and two walks.
Offensively, Brooklyn scored four runs in the fourth. Chris Suero got them started with an RBI single, Estarling Mercado drove in two with a single of his own, and A.J. Ewing tied the game up with the third RBI single of the inning.
Jesus Baez made it 5-4 in the seventh with a sacrifice fly. and a wild pitch would chase Jacob Reimer home to make it 6-4, the eventual final.

ST. LUCIE 7, PALM BEACH 2 (BOX)
St. Lucie won this game in the most “death by a thousand cuts” way possible. They used five pitchers and did not score more than two runs in an inning, but they were just steadily adding to their lead and their pitching held said lead. Colin Houck was the highlight performer, as the former first round pick hit two home runs. But truly, everyone did their part in this easy win,
