The Dunedin Blue Jays, the Class-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, announced their season-opening roster March 31.
Among the big names are two former first-round draft picks: shortstop JoJo Parker (2025) and pitcher Brandon Barriera (2022).

As the eighth overall pick, it’s Parker’s first professional assignment after finishing his senior season at Purvis High School.
Parker, 19, is a consensus Top-100 prospect in baseball. MLB Pipeline rates him as the No. 2 prospect in the Toronto system. He sits behind only postseason hero Trey Yesavage, who’s soon to lose his prospect eligibility after starting twice in last year’s World Series.
Parker, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, was the Gatorade High School Player of the Year in Mississippi in 2025.

Per MLB.com, Parker has “a powerful left-handed swing, but he’s able to keep his hacks in control, impressing pre-Draft evaluators with the way he manages the strike zone. There was already a feel to add loft in his swing, though he tended more toward line drives, and with work from Blue Jays strength training, he could get to plus power in the future.”
Barrirera, a 22-year-old left-hander, is repeating the level for the third season after losing time to injuries the last two years.

The 23rd overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, Barriera has been limited to only 13 professional outings since. He threw five innings between the 2024 and 2025 seasons following hybrid Tommy John/internal brace surgery in April 2024, and a fractured forearm in August of last year.
Despite the setbacks, MLB Pipeline still ranks Barriera as the Jays’ No. 22 prospect. They praise his 96-98 mph fastball velocity on the backfields this spring. He had a plus slider before the injuries — a pitch that will be key for his advancement through the minors.
