Owen County completed a regular season series sweep over Eminence with a 21-0 win in three innings on Thursday, March 26.

The Lady Rebels took down the Warriors 25-1 on Tuesday night before holding Eminence without a hit in Thursday’s victory.

Overall, Owen County ended with 10 hits and capitalized on nine Warrior errors throughout the evening to secure a shutout.

The Lady Rebels started the game strong at the plate and scored eight runs in the first inning alone.

Andie Baumann led off by reaching on an error and scored on a passed ball during the following at-bat to put Owen County on the board.

Following a pair of walks, Aubrey Craigmyle came across home on a Warrior error to push the lead to 2-0.

Two Lady Rebels wore pitches to load the bases shortly after, and Lexie Chappell drew a walk to bring in Abigayle Dempsey for the third run of the frame.

A pop out by the Warriors briefly slowed the momentum, but Owen County quickly responded with an RBI double into left field by Sophia Perry.

Her hit brought in JaiDean Branam and Lois Kemper, and Kayden Pierson scored on the throw to give the Lady Rebels a 6-0 edge.

Two plays later, Perry took advantage of a Warrior fielding error to score the seventh run of the inning and Hallie Tirey closed out the scoring streak with an RBI single just past the infield into left field, bringing in Baumann to put the margin at 8-0.

Eminence caught a promising hit in the infield to close out the frame, but Owen County limited the Warrior offense to a three up, three down showing in the bottom of the inning.

In the top of the second inning, Owen County stayed consistent and added eight more runs to its lead.

The Lady Rebels’ first two batters reached on Eminence errors before Peyton Buchanan sent both runners home on an RBI double to left field.

During the next at-bat, Perry ripped a hard ground ball into center field for an RBI single that put Owen County ahead 11-0.

The Warriors regrouped to secure back-to-back outs and slow the Lady Rebels’ attack.

However, Owen County responded well to keep the inning alive and build its lead out to 16-0.

Perry came home on a passed ball for the 12th run of the night on the ensuing play.

Tirey launched a single into left field and Dempsey dropped a single into center field before Branam was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Kemper brought in Tirey and Dempsey with an RBI single to right field, pushing the lead to 14-0.

After another walk reloaded the bases for Owen County, Buchanan sent an RBI single through to center field, allowing Branam and Kemper to come across home and extend the margin to 16-0.

Sadie Reed came up with a huge defensive stop and snagged a line drive hit at second base to wrap up the top of the second inning.

Yet, Eminence was limited to another three up, three down trip to the plate to leave the score at 16-0 heading into the third frame.

Owen County put five runs on the board in the top of the third, starting with a run by Baumann off a fielding error by the Warriors.

Dempsey singled to center field and advanced to second on the throw to put two runners aboard before Craigmyle scored on a passed ball to bring the lead out to 18-0.

Two plays later, Dempsey capitalized on a passed ball to score the 19th run of the game, and Chappell finished the at-bat with a walk to load the bases.

During the following play, Branam scored on a fielding error by Eminence to extend the lead to 20-0.

Maddy Hudnall capped off the five-run inning with an RBI single to the pitcher, pushing the margin to 21-0.

Owen County, led by Tirey in the circle, completed its no-hitter with a ground out and two strikeouts in the bottom of the third.

Tirey finished with four total strikeouts in three innings pitched and added a run, two hits and two RBI offensively.

Kemper scored four runs to lead the Lady Rebels, Buchanan earned a run, two hits and five RBI and Perry tallied two runs, two hits and four RBI.

The loss brought Eminence’s record to 0-6 overall, while Owen County moved to 4-2 on the year
