Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Zach Eflin’s 2026 season debut ended early with an elbow injury in the fourth inning in his start against the Texas Rangers last night. Today, he’s on the 15-day Injured List with an elbow injury. For now, the O’s have labeled it right elbow discomfot. Eflin underwent imaging today, but no update was made available prior to the Birds’ first pitch in their homestand conclusion against the Rangers this afternoon.

Eflin returned to the Orioles this offseason after dealing with injuries since last summer, eventually undergoing back surgery in 2025.

The Orioles corresponding roster move was to add bullpen help by calling up reliever Albert Suarez from Triple-A Norfolk. For now, starting pitcher Dean Kremer remains in Norfolk with his first start of the 2026 season scheduled in the minors Friday.

The O’s are off tomorrow and head to Pittsburgh Friday.
