CHICAGO, Ill. (WREX) — Cubs fans already got their home opener experience, but White Sox fans will have to wait a little longer for theirs.

On Wednesday, the Chicago White Sox announced on X they are postponing their home opener, which was scheduled for Thursday. The organization said they made the decision because of a forecast of inclement weather.

The rescheduled game against the defending American League champion Toronto Blue Jays will take place on Friday, April 3. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. Parking lots will open at 10 a.m. and Rate Field gates will open at 11:10 a.m.

The White Sox said all tickets for Thursday’s postponed game will be honored on Friday. That includes prepaid parking passes, Stadium Club passes, Ballpark Pass tickets, and patio tickets, according to the team.

The Cubs lost to the Washington Nationals, 10-4, in their home opener on March 26.
