And on Wednesday in Los Angeles, the Cleveland Guardians‘ right-handed pitcher had a big night.
The Guards pulled out an impressive 4-1 win at the Dodgers to close out the series, and Williams was fantastic on the mound..

Williams is the third Cleveland pitcher to strike out double-digit hitters in a game against the Dodgers.
The first was C.C. Sabathia. The second was Corey Kluber.
The stat came from Guardians TV host Al Pawlowski.
Gavin Williams is the third Cleveland pitcher in club history to strike out 10+ Dodgers. Kluber and Sabathia also did it.

Obviously, Cleveland doesn’t play the Dodgers much since they’re in opposite leagues. And before the dawn of interleague play, they never faced off.
But now, Williams is in the books with two of the best pitchers in franchise history. That’s great company for the Guardians’ righty to keep.
