St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Maysn Winn is ‘Ok’ after a car accident along I-64/U.S. Highway 40 in St. Louis.

According to multiple reports and a statement from the team, Winn was in a single car accident on the thoroughfare Wednesday and wet pavement has been cited as the cause. Several rain showers had drenched the St. Louis region earlier in the day. No one else was reportedly in the car with him. Winn was checked out at a local hospital and reports indicate he suffered no serious injuries.

In a statement shared across social media, the Cardinals said, “We are grateful that he is OK, and thank the first responders in our community who helped Masyn tonight.”

The accident came after Winn achieved his first career walk-off RBI to secure a 2-1 victory for the Cardinals against the New York Mets Wednesday afternoon at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals are off Thursday and begin a weekend series tomorrow, Friday, April 3, on the road against the Detroit Tigers.
