Jac Caglianone hasn’t been in the big leagues long.

The Kansas City Royals‘ rising star clearly understands the importance of every member of the organization, though.

He had the chance to do some goodwill toward the hard-working grounds crew, and he did that.

This is what Royals announcer Jake Eisenberg posted on X on Thursday:

“Chatted with Trevor Vance (Senior Director of Groundskeeping and Landscaping). He said last night Jac Caglianone asked one of the grounds crew members how many were on the crew (~20). This morning, Cags brought in three-dozen donuts + coffee for them as a thank you for their hard work. First class.”

It really doesn’t get much cooler than that.

The Royals’ grounds crew had plenty of work to do during Wednesday night’s matchup with the Minnesota Twins. Vance told Eisenberg they used about three tons of dirt (150 bags) during that game to try to keep the field in good enough shape.

Caglianone noticed, and he found a way to show his appreciation.

It’s not a big gesture, and it’s one that likely would’ve never even been known about if Eisenberg hadn’t spoken with Vance less than 24 hours later.

The reality, though, is that Caglianone didn’t do it to get noticed. He did it because he genuinely appreciated the grounds crew’s working.

And now, Caglianone deserves some plaudits for a cool move that shows he’s got his head on the right way.
