Garrett Fulmer hit a tiebreaking RBI triple in the sixth inning as The Citadel defeated Longwood 6-3 on Kids Day at Riley Park on April 2.

The Bulldogs (13-15) fell in a 2-0 hole quickly in the first inning but rebounded nicely with three runs in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by a two-run single by Zach Hunt.

After Longwood (18-12) knotted the score at 3 in the fourth, The Citadel regained the lead for good on Fulmer’s big hit and Lane Tobin’s two-run double in the eighth.

Hunt finished 2 for 3 with a walk and two RBIs, while Fulmer was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Bulldogs starter Will Holmes got the win, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks in six innings while striking out seven. Liam Foley went two scoreless innings, and CJ Van Slooten tossed a scoreless ninth for his second save.
