MEXICO, Mo. — The Hannibal Pirates had to rally late in its 6-4 extra-inning win over North Central Missouri Conference foe on Thursday.

Hannibal entered the seventh inning down two runs and tied the game up when Luke Straube scored on an error and Gavin Dudley doubled home Brody Wilson.

The Pirates held Mexico scoreless in the bottom half of the seventh to force extra innings, and scored the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth when Patrick Arthaud doubled home Bennett Baumgardner. Hannibal added an insurance run when Wilson singled home Arthaud.

Pirates starting pitcher Cooper Scott had a no-decision after pitching 5.2 innings with six strikeouts, while allowing five hits, two walks and one earned run.

Noah Dudley pitched a third of an inning in relief for Hannibal. Eli Clayton pitched two scoreless innings in relief to earn the win after getting one strikeout and allowing no walks or no hits.

Bulldogs starting pitcher Kaden Benne also had a no-decision after pitching six innings with four strikeouts, while allowing four hits, two walks and four earned runs.

Mexico reliever Drew DeMint was tagged with the loss after pitching two innings with three strikeouts, while allowing five hits, no walks and two earned runs.

Patrick Arthaud went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, a stolen base and a run, while Wilson went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.

Bulldogs second baseman Colton Dickey went 1-for-2 with a walk, stolen base and two RBIs, while left fielder Brady Fox went 1-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.

Up next for Hannibal (3-6) is the Moberly Invitational, with the Pirates facing Macon (1-6) at 10 a.m. on Friday.
