Missouri Southern State University’s Will Doherty went 3-for-3 and was a double short of hitting for the cycle Thursday, and the Lions smacked three home runs for a 9-5 win over the University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos in their MIAA game at Warren Turner Field.

The Lions (21-11,16-6) struck first with a Jacob Filip single to right field that scored Brayden Luikart in the bottom of the first. UCO (16-17, 7-12) earned a lead in the top of the second when Trevor Rowe hit a two-run homer to left that plated Caleb Castle. The Bronchos increased their lead to 3-1 when Colton Ayres drove in Luke Stout with a single to right field.
