GLEN ROSE — The Glen Rose Beavers battled hard in their return to the diamond Tuesday hosting the Dover Pirates for conference baseball play at the Glen Rose Sports Complex.
The Beavers powered some execution, but fell short to the visiting Pirates 14-4. Glen Rose collected four runs on seven hits, while Dover ignited eights in the batter’s box for an offensive spark.
Dover got on the board in the top of the first inning, but the Beavers answered in the bottom half of the first scoring a run, trailing the Pirates, 2-1.
Dover added one run in the second after a double to center field, then scored three in the top of the third.
The Pirates scored five runs on four hits in the top of the seventh inning. The Beavers routed a run in the third and two in the fourth, but fell short to score in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.
