After starting the season with seven straight road games, the Los Angeles Angles finally got to play in front of their home fans on Friday.

Unfortunately for them, that didn’t change much as the Angels fell t0 3-5 following a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners in 10 innings. And the defeat wasn’t the only unsettling part of the night for the team.

Prior to first pitch, the Angels had an embarrassing moment occur during the national anthem.

The anthem singer tried to time the ending of the “Star Spangled Banner” with a military flyover, but what happened was several seconds of cringe that resulted in several fans flocking to social media to rip the team for the botched anthem moment.

“Wow. That anthem was terrible, who cares about the flyover, just end the damn thing,” one fan scoffed.

“So not only is winning not a priority but neither is the fly over/anthem execution,” another fan stated.

“Sing the song and let the flyover be late. But no, you botched the anthem and the flyover was still off. Instead of 1 clown, we now have 2,” a third replied.

“Of course, leave it to the angels too fk it up 😂🫵🏼,” one user quipped.

“Angels are so cheap…. Can’t afford a real fly over? I thought it was about fan experience. Fans all want a real flyover,” another user exclaimed.

“lol this team just can’t do anything right,” another fan posted.

The Angles get a second crack at the Mariners on Saturday night in Game 2 of their three-game series.

Los Angeles will roll with starting pitcher Jack Kochanowicz (0-0, 11.25 ERA, three strikeouts, five walks), while Seattle will counter with Emerson Hancock (1-0, 0.00 ERA, nine strikeouts).National Anthem During Angels Home Opener Sparks Online Backlash
