CLEVELAND— Century Federal Credit Union has been named the Official Credit Union of Major League Baseball’s Cleveland Guardians.
Under a new multi-year partnership, the $400-million credit union will focus on community outreach, financial wellness and member perks tied to the team, the CU said.
Century FCU said the agreement is designed to pair in-ballpark branding at Progressive Field with financial literacy programming and exclusive experiences for members.
Century Federal, founded in 1948 and headquartered in Independence, Ohio, said the deal brings together two Cleveland institutions with a shared local focus. The credit union says it serves more than 34,000 members across Northeast Ohio and has more than $400 million in assets, making it one of the larger credit unions in the region.
“As a credit union founded and grown right here in Cleveland, this partnership means a great deal to all of us at Century Federal,” President/CEO Dave Wilde said in a statement. “The Guardians embody the pride, perseverance, and community spirit that define our city. Being named the Official Credit Union of the Cleveland Guardians is more than a sponsorship—it’s a shared commitment to supporting the people and neighborhoods that make Cleveland home and helping them Bank Boldly. Live Fully.”
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed in the announcement. Century Federal said planned elements of the partnership include financial literacy programs and workshops, special game-day and ticket opportunities for members, and branding and member-focused activations inside the ballpark.
“Century Federal Credit Union has deep roots in Cleveland and shares our commitment to supporting the people and neighborhoods that make this city special,” said Tim Salcer, senior vice president of sales and service for the Guardians. “This partnership reflects our shared belief that when Cleveland succeeds, we all do it together as a team—both on and off the field.”
The new deal adds to Century Federal’s growing sports marketing footprint, as the CI is the official credit union of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Monsters.
