Atlanta’s rotation currently consists of Chris Sale, Reynaldo Lopez, Grant Holmes, Bryce Elder and Martin Perez, but Sale has a lengthy injury history and is now 37. Holmes was diagnosed with a partial tear of his UCL last year, so his injury risk is still considered high. Elder had a 5.30 ERA last year, McDonald added, and he described Perez as “a soft-tossing” veteran.
