CLEVELAND, Ohio (WIBW) – The Royals made a pair of roster moves ahead of the series opener against the Cleveland Guardians on Monday evening.
The Kansas City Royals announced that Michael Massey has been reinstated from the 10-Day Injured List. To make room for Massey, Kansas City optioned Nick Loftin to AAA Omaha.

Massey played in 77 games in 2025, accumulating 277 plate appearances. Last season, Massey hit .244 with 64 hits, 3 home runs and batted in 20 runs.
The 28-year-old has been with the Kansas City Royals club for four years. He was drafted by Kansas City in the 4th round of the 2019 MLB Draft from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The Kansas City Royals (4-5) and Cleveland Guardians (6-4) are scheduled for a 5:10 p.m. first pitch Monday.
