On Tuesday, the New York Mets will open up their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks (at Citi Field).
The Mets are coming off a strong performance in San Francisco where they took three out of four games from the Giants.
That said, they lost Juan Soto to injury on Friday night.

Before Tuesday’s game, the Mets announced that Soto has been placed on the 10-Day IL.
In addition, they recalled a player from Triple-A.
SNY Mets wrote: “The Mets are recalling Ronny Mauricio from Triple-A in a corresponding move to Juan Soto landing on the IL with a calf strain”

Mauricio is coming off a season where he batted .226 with six home runs, ten RBI’s, 19 runs and four stolen bases in 61 games for the Mets.
After playing in 26 games for the Mets as a rookie (2023), he missed the entire 2024 season due to injury.

Right now, the 25-year-old is batting .273 with one home run, three RBI’s and four runs in eight Triple-A games this season.
Due to Soto’s injury, Mauricio will get a chance to prove himself over the next few weeks at the MLB level.

The Mets are 6-4 in their first ten games of the 2026 season, which has them as the second-place team in the National League East.
They are 2-1 in the three games they have played at Citi Field.
Following their series with Arizona, the Mets will remain at home to host the Athletics on Friday.
