The Los Angeles Angels returned outfielder Mike Trout to the lineup for Tuesday’s game after he missed the first game of the series.

A fastball struck Trout in the hand in the Angels’ game against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday, and promptly left the game. He missed Monday’s series opener—a win against the Atlanta Braves—entirely, but seems to be good to go on his bobblehead night Tuesday.

Trout has struggled with injuries over the past several seasons, including 2025 despite playing 130 games. He has played more than 100 games in just two of the last six seasons, with a slew of injuries on his record.

The Angels will be glad to see Trout back on the field, though, as he has been the offense’s catalyst this year and a key contributor to the Halos’ hot start to the year. The Angels are tied atop the division with the Houston Astros with a 6-5 record.

Through his 10 games this season, Trout has two home runs and three RBIs while slashing .212/.435/.424. His on-base percentage serves as the best on the team, and both his slugging percentage and OPS are second only to shortstop Zach Neto.

Trout will bat second and man center field for the Angels in the second game of their three-game set against the Braves, which starts Tuesday at 6:38 p.m. PT.
