The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Chicago White Sox by a final score of 4-2 on Tuesday afternoon. Orioles star Gunnar Henderson came through with a clutch home run that helped the O’s get the job done. Henderson addressed his big swing after the win on a cold day in Chicago, via MLB.com.

“Felt like I was seeing the ball pretty well and just had nothing to show for it,” Henderson said. “And then was able to get one and didn’t miss it. Coming through for the team and a chance to not go to extras would have been great because of how cold it was. Glad to be able to come through for the team in that spot.”

The weather in Chicago was in the 30’s on Tuesday. Henderson and the team were certainly happy to avoid extra innings without question. He ultimately finished the game with two hits and two RBI.

Henderson also got brutally honest while further discussing the Chicago weather again during the postgame interview.

“There’s about a 20 degree difference from the clubhouse, maybe even more, from here to out there,” Henderson added. “So yeah, it was not any type of warm out there.”

The Orioles have had an up and down start to the new season. They are now 5-6 overall. Baltimore is hoping to find more all-around consistency as a team moving forward. Tuesday’s win was a step in the right direction.

The O’s and White Sox will play once again in Chicago on Wednesday afternoon at 2:10 PM EST.
