TORONTO—As the Los Angeles Dodgers prepared for Game Two of a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays, the team announced that veteran utility infielder Miguel Rojas had been scratched from tonight’s lineup.
Hyeseong Kim was announced as Rojas’ replacement at shortstop and batting eighth.
The Dodgers announced that Rojas was scratched from the lineup to tend to a family matter.
The Dodgers have been hit hard by the injury bug to start the 2026 season, and that was made even worse earlier this road trip when All-Star shortstop Mookie Betts was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique issue.
Rojas was set to play a massive part in the replacement of Betts, splitting time with Kim at the premier infield position, playing mostly against right-handed pitching.
Instead of Blue Jays ace Kevin Gausman on the mound, Hyeseong Kim will get his second consecutive start at short since being recalled from Triple-A on Sunday.
