Royals 1B Vinnie Pasquantino trademarks his popular nickname ‘The Pasquatch’

  • April 8, 2026

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One of the most recognizable nicknames on the Kansas City Royals is officially that player’s own.

Vinnie Pasquantino formally trademarked his nickname “The Pasquatch” after the United States Patent and Trademark Office registered it on Tuesday.

Per the official document, any use of the trademarked nickname requires Pasquantino’s consent on the following: “Beanies; Hats; Hoodies; Jeans; Leggings; Loungewear; Pants; Shirts; Sweaters; Sweatpants; Sweatshirts; Tights; Clothing jackets; Crew necks; Crop tops; Halter tops; Jogging pants; Long-sleeved shirts; Shirts for infants, babies, toddlers and children; Short-sleeve shirts; Tee shirts.”

How did Pasquantino get his moniker?

“I’m pretty sure Ryan O’Hearn,” he told MLB Network a year ago. “And then the Royals really ran with it. They’ve really run with it. So now I’ve started to run with it, too.”

The Royals ran with it so much that whenever Pasquantino reaches base, a Bigfoot-type figure roams around the top of the team’s Hall of Fame.

“I appreciate it a lot,” Pasquantino said last season. “[I’m] doing what I can to get on base for him so he can come out and play. But we’re working on it. Hope he stays up there.”
