Thomas Saggese laced a go-ahead double in the top of the 10th and JJ Wetherholt also delivered an RBI double in the inning to lift St. Louis to a 7-6 victory. Nathan Church, who entered the game as a pinch-runner in the sixth inning tied the game with a two-run homer in the eighth inning while Jordan Walker cracked a solo shot in the seventh.

The Nationals took a 3-2 lead on Curtis Mead’s solo homer in the bottom of the fifth after James Wood tied the game with a solo blast in the third. Mead added an RBI single in the sixth. Cole Henry took the loss after giving up two runs, one earned, in the 10th while starter Cade Cavalli surrendered two runs, one earned, over 4.2 innings, leaving the game after throwing 94 pitches.

Right-hander Miles Mikolas (0-2), who pitched for the Cardinals from 2018-25, gets the start in the series finale for Washington. He’s allowed 17 runs, 15 earned, in 9.1 innings over his first two starts. Right-hander Michael McGreevy (0-1) has given up just three runs in 10.2 innings through two starts for the Cardinals.
