Baltimore Orioles right-hander Zach Eflin had season-ending Tommy John surgery Wednesday, the team announced.

Eflin had received a second opinion on his right elbow from Dr. Keith Meister, who performed the procedure.

Eflin, who turned 32 on Wednesday, was pulled after 3â…” innings in his first start against the Texas Rangers on March 31 due to right elbow discomfort. The team had transferred him to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Eflin landed on IL three times in 2025 because of lat and back ailments and finished 6-5 with a 5.93 ERA in 14 starts. He re-signed with the team for $10 million in the offseason.
