WOOD RIVER JCT. — Chariho junior Adrianna Jeannenot threw her first seven-inning no-hitter of the season, striking out 12 to lift the Chargers past East Providence, 3-0, in a Division I game Tuesday.

Anna Tretton’s second-inning RBI single gave Chariho (4-0) all the runs it needed. Maddie Dorgan had two hits, and Kesten Hanks drove in a run for the Chargers, who stole five bases.

Marianna Pina pitched well in defeat, allowing seven hits and one earned run.

CRANSTON – Frankie Arnold pitched a five-hitter and struck out nine to power Westerly over Cranston West Tuesday.

Dacia Gingerella led the Bulldogs (4-0) offensively with two hits and two RBI. Ella Keegan and Arnold added two hits apiece, including a double.

NORWICH – Raegan Palmer collected Stonington’s only hit in the sixth inning in a 12-0 ECC out-of-division loss to defending ECC tourney champ Norwich Free Academy Tuesday.

Stonington fell to 0-2.

NORTH STONINGTON – Shay Deary had two hits and Morgyn Perkins added an RBI single in Wheeler’s 15-1 ECC out-of-division loss to Bacon Academy Tuesday.

The loss dropped the Lions to 0-2.

Westerly’s Sacco sets school record

Westerly’s Lorelai Sacco shattered her hammer throw record by five feet with a 159-9 to highlight the Westerly girls track and field team’s dual meet loss to East Greenwich and Coventry Monday.

Madison Pellegrino won the javelin, high jump and discus, Adrienne Phillips won the long jump and Ella Reyes won the 200. Westerly’s 4×400 relay of Santanaa Hamelin, Reyes, Calla Bruno and Emerson Federico also finished first.

BOYS TRACK

Westerly swept

Kurahn Salmon won the long jump (19-7) and Jack Speranza won the shot put (47-5) to highlight Westerly’s showing in a tri-meet loss to Coventry and East Greenwich Monday.

Westerly’s 4×400 relay of Nick Cote, Dan Cummings, Ben Cummings and Salmon also took a first place.

Chariho sweeps

WOOD RIVER JCT. – Anderson Chapman won the 100 (11.0) and 200 (22.6), Ethan McCann won the 1500 (4:40.9), 3000 (10:13.9) and the Chargers boys track won everything in between in a dominant tri-meet season-opening win over Exeter-West Greenwich (117-22) and West Warwick (101-44) Tuesday.

Other Chariho winners were Leo Haxton (800, 2:07.3), Isaac Graham (400, 54.2), Connor Prescott (110 hurdles, 19.8), Maverick Morrone (300 hurdles, 49.0), the 4×400 relay of Mitchell Craemer, Graham, Haxton and Ethan McCann (3:53.7), Reid McCann (javelin, 156-0), Gavin Morse (triple jump, 34-2), Nick Wilusz (high jump, 5-8) and Noah Waterman (pole vault, 8-0).

PORTSMOUTH – Rafferty Dionnes scored five goals to power Portsmouth over Westerly, 8-5, in an RIIL Division II boys lacrosse first-place showdown Tuesday.

Caleb Williams had two goals and an assist for Westerly (2-1).

Cranston West 10

CRANSTON – Jamison Jaillet scored four goals to lead Chariho to its first victory in a 11-10 win over Cranston West Tuesday.

Ben Holt, Lucas Duponte and Jack Rapoza added two goals each for the Chargers (1-3). Shilo Carlson had two assists, scooped nine groundballs and won seven of 18 faceoffs. Morgan Campbell made 10 saves in goal.

NORTH STONINGTON – Ava Gentes scored four goals to lead Wheeler to its first win of the season Tuesday.

Lucia Browne and Julie Larkin scored two goals each for the Lions (1-1). Selita Sebastian made six saves and Lily White added two for Wheeler.

STONINGTON – Ady Risley and Finn O’Keefe each shot 60 for medalist honors in the Stonington girls’ golf team’s season-opening 7-0 win over Waterford at Stonington Country Club Tuesday.

The Bears totaled 255 strokes over the 9-hole course compared to Waterford’s 296. Jaime Halloran (65) and Kiley Jameson (70) also won their individual matches for the Bears.
