ATLANTA – Seven Missouri Valley Conference baseball student-athletes were selected over 20 rounds in the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft, July 12-14. 

In the last five drafts, there have been 45 selections from The Valley overall, and there have been at least seven picks in each of those five years.

Missouri State’s Jake McCutcheon and Nick Rodriguez were the first MVC players to be selected, going back-to-back in the 10th round. As the 288th pick overall, McCutcheon is headed to the Miami Marlins organization, while Rodriguez is going to the Los Angeles Angels organization.

Illinois State’s Shai Robinson joined the Bears in the 10th round, going 299th overall to the Minnesota Twins. Murray State’s Will Vierling went in the 11th round to the Philadephia Phillies organization, while Belmont’s Joe Ruzicka (Detroit Tigers), UIC’s Luke Nowak (Kansas City Royals) and Illinois State’s Tyrelle Chadwick (Colorado Rockies) went in rounds 16-18.
