The Kansas City Royals got just enough offense to support Kris Bubic and take down the Chicago White Sox 2-0 Friday night at Kauffman Stadium.
Bubic struck out eleven hitters across his seven scoreless innings, only allowing a pair of hits and a walk. The Royals took the lead in the fourth when Bobby Witt Jr. doubled home Maikel Garcia. Carter Jensen gave Kansas City an insurance run with a solo shot in the seventh, which was his fourth homer of the year.
Matt Strahm tossed a perfect eighth and Lucas Erceg picked up the save with a spotless ninth.
Kansas City evens the series and improves to 6-8 on the season. The Royals continue their series with the White Sox today, with Michael Wacha getting the start against Erick Fedde. Pregame coverage begins at 2:30, with first pitch at 3:10 p.m. on KMMO AM 1300.
