Los Angeles is clearly a Dodger town.
City of Angels residents now — perhaps more than ever — consider the Dodgers their favorite sports team in LA over the Lakers, according to the results of a new survey.
The Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles asked over 2,000 Angelenos “which is your favorite professional team in the LA media market?” and the Boys and Blue were the undisputed winner.

Dave Roberts’ team earned 42.9 percent of the vote, while the Lakers got 28.2.
The results were a stark difference from the poll the same entity conducted back in 2014.
At that time, the Lakers had 42.9 percent, while the Dodgers had 33.8.
It’s also a fairly significant variation from just three years ago, when the Lakers got 32.9 percent of the vote to the Dodgers’ 32.1.

Coming in third this year, according to survey, was the Rams with seven percent. Rounding out the top five were the Kings (5%) and the Angels (4%).
The Sparks and Angel City FC, meanwhile, came in a tie for last place with .6 percent of the vote.
The results, of course, shouldn’t surprise many, especially after seeing crowds at Dodger Stadium on March 31, when the Dodgers were playing at the same time as the Lakers.
More than 50,000 people showed up and battled rainy conditions, all while the Lakers played indoors against the Cavaliers a few miles away at Crypto.com Arena.
