A four-run bottom of the eighth wiped away a three-run deficit as Stevens picked up an 11-10 win over King’s at home Thursday in the first game of a three-game series with the Monarchs.
King’s used the long ball to score three runs in the top of the second when Zach Jenkins hit a solo homer and Joshua Quinones hit a two-run homer. Kevin Kullman added a two-run homer in the top of the seventh that put King’s ahead, 10-6.
Kullman, Troy Neff and Owen Kosar each had three hits. Quinones finished with two hits and four RBIs, while Kullman had two RBIs and three runs. The Monarchs had 15 hits, five for extra bases.
