Twins Host Reds

The Twins will host the Cincinnati Reds in a three games series starting tonight.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The first-place Minnesota Twins open a three-game weekend series at home against the first-place Cincinnati Reds. The 11-8 Twins lead the American League Central Division by a half-game over Cleveland, while the 11-8 Reds are tied atop the National League Central with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Reds lost to the San Francisco Giants yesterday 3-0, while the Twins had a night off. Minnesota lost to the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday 9-5, but took the three-game series two-games-to-one. The Twins have won eight of their past ten games. Cincy has won three of five. Minnesota will send all-star Joe Ryan to the hill tonight. The right-hander is 2-1 on the season with a 3.80 earned run average. He will face Reds’ lefty Brandon Williamson, who is 1-1 this year with a 5.28 E-R-A. Tonight’s first pitch is slated for 7:10 P-M.
