Toronto is coming off a three-game series loss against the Milwaukee Brewers that dropped their record to 7-11 to sit tied for last in the AL East with the Boston Red Sox.

After an off day to start the week, the Jays beat the Brewers 9-7 in extra innings to snap a mini two-game losing skid, but then back-to-back losses of 2-1 against the pesky Brew Crew have them in another hole entering another series in sunny Arizona.

The Diamondbacks are 11-8 and third place in a very competitive NL West. Whenever the Jays and DBacks meet it’s a chance to revisit the 2022 trade that sent Daulton Varsho to the Blue Jays in exchange for top catching prospect Gabriel Moreno and Lourdes Gurriel Jr, the trade somewhat of a wash so far with each team making a World Series appearance but falling short.

The Jays could have some extra support in the crowd tonight with Canadian snowbirds possibly still spending time in Arizona. The Jays have a few homes away from home: Seattle for Vancouver based fans, Minnesota for anyone willing to drive out of the prairies, and Detroit for anyone living near the great lakes.
