Recently, WWE’s Danhausen said he would uncurse the New York Mets, but explained why the curse’s removal might not have taken.

Earlier this week, Danhausen took to social media to respond to a request from former WWE head writer Brian Gewirtz, a longtime Mets fan, asking him to uncurse the team. Gewirtz said he would inquire about getting Danhausen’s face on one of WWE‘s production trucks if he would do it, and Danhausen seemed to agree, and demanded proof of Gewirtz’s deal.

Dealhausen. Now where is Danhausens face on the truck?

The curse didn’t seem to be removed, though, and Danhausen thinks he may have figured out why. Speaking to Fox News, Danhausen revealed why he thinks maybe the curse didn’t fully get removed.

“I did un-curse the Mets. But it didn’t work because, I believe it was Brian Gewirtz who did not pay Danhausen. He did not send me my money so it did not take full effect,” Danhausen told Fox News Digital on Friday morning. “Once I have the money, perhaps it will actually work because right now it’s probably about a half of an un-cursing. It’s like a layaway situation.”

Following Danhausen’s interview, the Mets dropped their latest game since Danhausen said he’d uncurse them, a 12-4 loss to the Chicago Cubs.
