GOSHEN – Burke Catholic won its fifth straight baseball game on Friday, defeating Tri-Valley 17-0.
Sean Rule, who will play locally at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh next year, pitched five shutout innings, allowing just two hits. Vincent Greany went 2-for-4 with three RBI for Burke Catholic (6-3), and Brendyn Quinn and Jordan Drucker each went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Quinn blasted a homer for the Eagles, who have won three consecutive Section 9 Class C titles. The Eagles moved up to Class B this season.
