The Giants look for their fourth straight victory and a series sweep against the Washington Nationals on Sunday.

The San Francisco Giants go for the series sweep against the Washington Nationals on the road on Sunday afternoon. The Giants won the series on Saturday in a close 7-6 matchup, after cruising to a 10-5 win in the opener on Friday. The Giants are playing better lately as they go for their fourth win in a row, after losing four straight for the second time this season. San Francisco is now 9-12 on the early season and is no longer in last place in the NL West. The Nationals have now dropped to the same 9-12 record, and counterintuitively, their problem has been at home, where they are just 1-7 at Nationals Park. The Nationals are trying to avoid losing three in a row today and four of their last five games. These two will play their final series of the season in San Francisco at the beginning of June. The Giants are the big -156 favorites, especially on the road, to earn the first series sweep on Sunday.

The Giants won on Saturday in 12 innings with Matt Chapman playing the hero by driving in the automatic runner on an RBI single. The Nationals couldn’t respond in the bottom of the inning. It was a disappointing loss for the Nationals after they went up 5-1 after the second inning. San Francisco tied the game in the top of the sixth on a two-run shot from Heliot Ramos. Rafael Devers singled in Willy Adames in the top of the seventh for the go-ahead run. Washington didn’t score again until the bottom of the ninth when Brady House singled home the tying run to force extras.

San Francisco has a great shot at keeping this winning streak rolling by starting former Cy Young award winner Robbie Ray. The veteran lefty is 2-2 to start the season with a 2.42 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. The Nationals are countering with Miles Mikolas. The righty has not gotten off to a great start for his new team after spending the last seven seasons in St. Louis. Mikolas is 0-3 in four starts with an 11.49 ERA and a WHIP well over two.
