Missouri could fund half of new Royals stadium, lawmaker says

The team did not specify what exactly would be announced at the event, although the announcement comes less than a week after Kansas City leaders tentatively approved up to $600 million in funding for a Royals stadium in downtown Kansas City.

The ballpark would likely go in Washington Square Park near Union Station and Crown Center.
