Postseason baseball and softball will be in full swing this week, as MHSAA squads look to make a run at a state title.

Baseball

Neshoba Central earned a pair of double-digit wins over Greenville to finish the regular season with a 15-13 record. Cameron Webb had two hits and three RBIs to lead the way in the game to win over Greenville. The Rockets will be the three-seed out of their region and will be on the road for game one of their three-game first round playoff series against Grenada on Thursday.

Choctaw Central saw its season come to an end, after losing in three games to Mendenhall in the first round of the MHSAA 4A State Tournament, finishing with a 7-18 record. Ansen McMillon led the Warriors in their only win of the series with three hits and two RBIs.

Union saw its season come to an end, following a 2-0 sweep at the hands of Seminary in the first round of the MHSAA 3A State Tournament, finishing the season with an 11-12-1 record. Tanner Watkins had two hits and an RBI in the game two loss to Seminary.

Leake Academy earned a three-game region sweep over Oak Hill Academy last week and improved to 15-10 on the season. Majure Chandler had three hits, including a home run, and six RBIs in the game three win over Oak Hill. The Rebels will wrap up the regular season with a three-game region series against Washington School this week.

Softball

Neshoba Central finished the regular season with an 11-1 region win over Warren Central and improved to 26-2 on the season. Laura Eakes had two hits and three RBIs to lead the way in the win. The Lady Rockets will take on Center Hill in the first round of the postseason, with game one set for Friday.

Choctaw Central took a series sweep over Richland in the first round of the MHSAA 4A State Tournament and improved to 20-7 on the season. Saneya Martin threw a no-hitter in three innings in the game two win. The Lady Warriors will take on Poplarville in the second round, beginning on the road on Thursday.

Philadelphia earned a series sweep over Leland last week in the first round of the MHSAA 2A State Tournament and improved to 4-11 on the year. The Lady Tornadoes advance to take on Hamilton, with game one set for Thursday.

Union opened the postseason with a series sweep over Magee and improved to 14-13 on the campaign. Ellie Killen had two hits and two RBIs to lead the way in the game two win. The Lady Yellow Jackets will take on Presbyterian Christian in their second round series, with game one set for Friday at home.
